Lance Morris has been appointed to support the growth of RJM’s Asia-Pacific business.
RJM set up its Asia-Pacific operation in February 2018 to manage its current projects in that region more effectively and to target other operators of power plants and district heating plants.
Since that date, RJM has won more work retro-fitting district heating plants in Beijing with its new Ultra-Low Nox CleanAir Burner™ and is currently working on two other major power plant upgrade projects, in Hong Kong and Vietnam.
With the appointment of a new agent covering off Indonesia in August 2018 and new opportunities now presenting themselves throughout South East Asia, additional skilled resource is now needed in RJM’s Singapore office. The appointment of Lance Morris will ensure RJM’s ambitious growth plan in the region can stay on track.
Lance is a highly-experienced combustion engineer with over 25 years’ experience and joins RJM from RWE Generation’s Technical Support Group where he was contracted in the position of Combustion Engineer and Testing & Commissioning Coordinator, with responsibility for the commissioning, optimisation and operation of RWE’s UK fleet of biomass and coal boiler plants. Lance also has expertise in plant performance data analysis and reporting, as well as mill, burner and emissions optimisation schemes.
Prior to his role at RWE, Lance worked for Alstom at Manjung Power Station in Malaysia to supervise and commission the new 3 x 760MWe coal-fired plant. Previous roles have included operations-based positions at other power stations in Taiwan, Malaysia and South Africa.
Commenting on the new appointment, John Goldring, Managing Director of RJM said, “Lance has the technical expertise we’re looking for and is an experienced operator in South East Asia, so knows how business gets done there. We very much look forward to welcoming him to RJM and to building our South East Asia activities together.”
